Christopher Aultman (Phillis) is a Canadian composer and euphonist based out of Southern Ontario. Born in 2003, they hold a BMus degree from Wilfrid Laurier University (WLU), and have been composing and performing for nearly a decade.
As a composer, Christopher has primarily created instrumental pieces, ranging from solos to large ensemble works. Their work has been featured in multiple concerts at WLU from 2023-2026, with performances by professionals—such as the Penderecki String Quartet and Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony—and peers alike. In 2026, they were one of two winners of the Peterborough Concert Band's Emerging Composer Program—a program partnered with the Canadian Music Center (CMC) to foster the growth of young Canadian composers by commissioning new concert band works. Christopher loves to compose for all instrumentations, and actively welcomes the opportunity to write new music whenever they can.
As a euphonist, Christopher has been playing both solo and ensemble repertoire for the last 9 years. They studied under professors Jane Maness and Jonathan Rowsell during their undergraduate studies at WLU, and continue to pursue performance opportunities. They have been a member of the Wellington Wind Symphony for the last 2 years, and perform with them regularly. Some of their favorite pieces they have performed include Kevin Day's 1st Euphonium Concerto and David Maslanka's Symphony No. 4.
Outside of composing and performing, Christopher likes playing video games, board game nights with friends, and thinking about one day getting a dog named "Bug".
